Assalamualaikum w.b.t. and hello to the readers of this
blog. Allow me to introduce myself; my name is Noor Ain Syahirah Bt. Mat Zaid
and you can call me Ain Syahirah or Ain, for short. I am a student at the
University of Malaya, furthering my studies in Bioinformatics along with seven
other wonderful ladies namely Shamin, Fatin, Kartheeni, Foo, Mai, Anis and Ad—who’d
also made, or will make, their appearances in this blog.
Enough with the chit-chat, let’s get straight to the real
reason this blog was born. Honestly, the reason behind the birth of this blog
is because of the ‘Social Engagement’ course. The SE course is a compulsory
course in which every undergraduate in their second semester of their first
year must take as a requirement to proceed to the second year. We have to
organize an event for the SE course with the eight of us as the committee members.
At first when I heard about this, I immediately felt a churn in my stomach. 😖 With
only eight people in a group and not to mention all of us are girls, I doubted
we could pull off the event. However, after the official briefing on the course
and another briefing with our coordinator, Dr. Arpah, I gained some confidence
in our group. I felt really bad for doubting myself as well as the others. 😓😓😓😓 That
aside, the idea of volunteerism really excites me as I’ve always been
interested in it. I really can’t wait to work with the girls for this project! 😍
